Corporate Directors Forum, the largest regional association of corporate directors in the U.S., named Chairman and CEO Lenny Comma its Director of the Year for Corporate Citizenship. He was among six San Diego leaders recognized for superior leadership in corporate governance and outstanding performance in the boardroom and behind the scenes.

Univision Communications Inc. and The NPD Group honored Jack in the Box as a Regional Trailblazer for its menu innovation and for creating cultural connections with the Hispanic community.

BurgerBusiness, a leading online website focused on burger-serving restaurants and related menu and marketing news, proclaimed Jack in the Box as 2014 Burger Chain of the Year for marketing a separate late-night menu – Jack’s Munchie Meals – and for developing differentiating limited-time offers like Bacon Insider; Spicy Sriracha Burger; Meat Lovers and Grande Sausage Breakfast Burritos; Croissant Donuts; Spicy Chicken Club; Breakfast, Nacho and Bacon Ranch Monster Tacos; BBQ and Jalapeño Ranch Ultimate Cheeseburgers; and Sourdough Breakfast Melts.

Food Safety Magazine honored Vice President of Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ann Marie McNamara with its Distinguished Service Award for her efforts to promote and advance science-based solutions for food safety issues.

The San Diego Business Journal honored Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jerry Rebel with its Exemplary Award at the 2013 CFO of the Year Awards program. He was recognized for his exceptional contributions to the workplace through innovation and leadership, and for extraordinary service to the community.

January 2013

DVP of Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ann Marie McNamara received the Ambassador Award from the National Council of Chain Restaurants (NCCR) for the support she’s provided to other NCCR members with food-safety initiatives, as well as compliance with federal regulations affecting restaurants.

December 2012

Jack in the Box Inc. named one of California‘s top companies for gender diversity, according to a study of women directors and top-paid executives by the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management. Jack in the Box was similarly recognized in the annual survey in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005. According to the survey, Jack in the Box was the only California company in the Fortune 1,000 with an ethnic minority woman (Linda Lang) as CEO.

For the second consecutive year, Jack in the Box® has the top-ranked franchise system among hamburger chains (and 7th overall in 2011) according to an annual survey of the best franchise systems conducted by AllBusiness.com, the world's largest online resource for small businesses. The ranking, which reflected the evaluation of more than 800 franchise systems, was based on such criteria as franchise unit growth rate, financial strength, system size, years in business, years franchising, availability of financing, and Web (brand) visibility.

Jack in the Box® restaurants named one of the “50 Top Franchises for Minorities” for the second consecutive year by the National Minority Franchising Initiative based on system size, the number of operating units owned by minorities (both absolute and as a percentage of the total number), and the number of minorities in senior management earning more than $60,000 per year.

QSR Magazine bestowed an Applied Technology Award upon Jack in the Box in recognition of its restaurant marketing toolkit, which provides franchise operators online access to local marketing and promotional materials. The Applied Technology Awards biennially recognizes the best innovations that improve and enhance the restaurant experience for operators, employees and consumers.

NSF International (formerly the National Sanitation Foundation) named Jack in the Box Inc. one of four winners of its first Food Safety Leadership Awards, recognizing groundbreaking achievements that help protect the public from foodborne illness.

October 2000 

The Food and Drug branch of the California Department of Health Services recognized Jack in the Box Inc. for helping the state adopt the uniform food-safety standards put forth by the Food and Drug Administration. The “Outstanding Leadership in Food Safety” award also honored Jack in the Box for helping the state draft a 1997 law requiring all restaurants to cook meat and eggs at specified temperatures to ensure safety.
